Barbara Michelson-Harder - Executive Director
Barbara began her study of acting and the theatre arts at the University of Texas in Austin. After a hiatus, she continued her studies with Jean Shelton at the Shelton Actors Lab here in San Francisco. She has been in several local productions including a program of Tennessee Williams' One Acts and Hal Savage's Film Noir plays. Her favorite roles, so far, are Claire in Albee's A Delicate Balance, and Blanche in Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire. Barbara has also had principle roles on a WB TV Pilot, local independently produced movies, and a Public Television ESL Series. She has worked as Assistant Director on two productions, her favorite with Richard Harder for Pvt. Wars. Barbara is grateful to Jean for her incredible teaching and also to Keith Phillips, Chris Phillips and Joe Mazza. She is thrilled to be a founding member of Off Broadway West Theatre Company and is enjoying working with this wonderful group of extremely talented friends. Barbara recently won Best Actress for her role as Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire.
